Attic Insulation
Attic spray foam insulation plugs the gaps at the top of the house and adds a layer that holds heat where people live. In an older Kitchener home with a cold bedroom, the attic is the first place we look.

Phone us and ask. A short talk before the visit helps us bring the right gear.
Across Ontario, most jobs price out between $2.50 and $7 per sprayed square foot. Open cell in an attic sits near the low end, and closed cell on roof boards or crawl space walls sits near the top. Your written quote gives the real number after a free visit.
Each inch of closed cell rates near R-6 to R-7, while each inch of open cell rates near R-3.5 to R-3.8. Foam also stops air movement, so it often does better in a real house than batts with the same number.
Yes, once it has cured. Plan to be out of the house while we spray and for about a day after. Fans run through the space, and we tell you the hour you can come back.
Closed cell is dense and rigid, blocks vapour and suits basements, crawl spaces and rim joists. Open cell is soft, costs less and suits attic ceilings and inside walls. Many Kitchener homes use both.
Spray foam insulation seals air leaks while it insulates, and fibreglass does not. Batts can sag, leave gaps and hold damp against a cold wall. Foam stays bonded to the framing.
A kit is hard to keep at the right temperature and mix over a large area. The foam can go on too thick, shrink or pull away from the wood. Kits are fine for small gaps but rarely work for a whole wall or attic.
Foam is treated to slow flame spread, but it still has to be covered in living spaces. Drywall or an approved coating goes over it, and attics and crawl spaces have their own lighter rules.
Yes, when the walls are open from inside. We spray the stud bays and leave the brick and trim alone. Heritage districts may need a permit for outside changes, so check your address with the city.
Yes. Foam that has shrunk, cracked or kept a smell has to be cut back to clean wood. We remove it, clean the surface and spray new foam properly.
Most homes can be booked for spray foam insulation within a few weeks of the visit. Larger commercial work is scheduled around your hours.

Basement spray foam insulation grips concrete and block and keeps cold, damp air away from the wall. A chilly basement becomes a room people actually use in winter.

Foam sprayed into open stud bays fills them from edge to edge and stops the drafts older walls let through. The best time to do it is when the plaster or drywall is already off.

Sealing the rim joist closes off the wooden band resting on your foundation, a spot that leaks more air than almost anywhere else downstairs. It is a short job that makes a basement far less drafty.

Knee wall spray foam insulation seals the short walls and sloped ceilings of an upstairs room tucked under the roof. It fixes the second floor that freezes in winter and bakes in summer.

Foam on the walls and band joist of a crawl space keeps cold and damp out from under the house. Floors above it warm up, and water lines down there stop freezing.

Garage spray foam insulation keeps a garage warmer in winter, cooler in summer and drier all year. It also shields any bedroom built over the garage from the cold below.

Foam on the roof deck and walls lowers heating costs in offices, shops, warehouses and industrial units. One pass both insulates the building and seals its air leaks.

Kitchener spray foam insulation removal starts where a bad install left off, with foam that went on wrong and has started to shrink, crack or smell. We cut it back to clean wood so new foam can go on properly.
